In the Lviv region, a lawyer is suspected of fraud in martial law. The Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Western Region Defense reported a suspicion of a lawyer who deceived citizens by offering them assistance for large amounts of money.
According to the investigation, the lawyer cheated a widow whose man died in Donetsk, promising her help in receiving financial assistance from the state for a large part of its amount. He convinced the woman that without his help she would not be able to receive payments, and asked 30% of the amount of assistance, as well as 25 thousand hryvnias on a monthly basis for his "services". The lawyer also suggested that she make a will to avoid controversy between children.
To conceal his criminal activity, he ordered the victim to open a bank account and send him a PIN Card. Then he stole about 800 thousand UAH from a woman card.
A similar scheme was used for another resident of the Lviv region, whose man disappeared during the battles in Luhansk region. The lawyer promised to help her find her husband, collecting 460 thousand UAH for the alleged search.
The attacker was detained during another theft of money, and he has now been informed of suspicion of fraud. The person affects up to 12 years in prison. In addition, the issue of arrest of his property - apartments and two cars is solved.
