Ukraine has finally received positive changes in the issue of unblocking aid from the United States. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this during his working visit. The main areas of work included:
- Unblocking military and financial aid from the USA.
- Attracting American investments to the Ukrainian economy.
- Use of Russian frozen assets.
The bulk of the aid is for military purposes, including $7.8 billion in budget support and more than $1.5 billion in economic aid. In addition, the Congress is considering a draft law on the confiscation of Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
During the visit, Shmyhal held meetings with the leaders of the Senate, where the needs of the Ukrainian country in terms of weapons and finances were discussed. Special attention was paid to the urgent restoration of the Ukrainian energy system, in particular in cities on the front line, such as Kharkiv. Shmyhal also discussed plans for the decentralization of the energy system and the supply of gas turbines and mobile boilers.
The Prime Minister held a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community in the US Senate and Senator Roger Wicker before voting on the American aid package.
