President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with PBS that the air defense forces of Ukraine found themselves in a critical situation due to the lack of missiles to repel an air attack from the Russian Federation. This led to the destruction of the Trypil thermal power plant.
According to Zelenskyi, Russian troops fired 11 missiles at the Trypil TPP. Of the seven missiles, Ukrainian forces were able to hit only the first seven, but the other four led to the destruction of the power plant, as the Ukrainian side had already used up all available missiles.
The president also emphasized that Ukraine faces limitations in receiving direct support, as this may cause a reaction that NATO countries are drawn into the conflict. According to him, an example is Israel, which is not a member of the North Atlantic Alliance, but has received support from NATO allies during conflicts.
Zelensky called on the world to take this example into account and emphasized the importance of helping Ukraine without involving NATO countries in the war.
