In his evening address to the people, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the situation on the outskirts of the city of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region as "extremely difficult". According to him, the city is under constant Russian fire, and the Ukrainian military is conducting counterattacks.
"On the outskirts of the city of Vovchanska, the situation is extremely difficult - the city is under constant Russian fire, and counterattacks by our military continue," the president said in his evening address.
Earlier, the head of the local administration announced the shooting battles in the northern suburbs of Vovchansk.
At the same time, according to him, there were attempts by the Russians to enter the city itself.
"There were small groups that tried to enter the territory and the streets of the city, but the armed forces stopped these attempts and now the city is completely under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," said Tamaz Gambarashvili.
