President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in Budapest to participate in the European Political Community itself, which is taking place in Hungary. The meeting with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, was one of the first events of the summit, which brought together 47 leaders of power and government to discuss current international issues, including security and the economy.
Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the Pushkash Arena. The President of Ukraine arrived in Budapest for the summit of the European Political Community, and at the entrance, he, like everyone else, was met personally by Viktor Orban. 47 heads of state and government, heads of major international organizations have been invited to the summit," the publication writes.
As Sky TG24 notes, Zelenskyi was met by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, with whom he shook hands in front of the cameras.
"I will speak after the meeting," the President told journalists.
The Hungarian publication Telex noted that the President of Ukraine is visiting Hungary for the first time after his election in 2019.
As Infostart points out, politicians are not boycotting the meeting this time. "One of the reasons is that this is the first joint summit after the presidential elections in the USA," the publication notes. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and European Council President Charles Michel, among others, are reportedly already at the Puskas Arena.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, as indicated, previously emphasized that this will be the largest diplomatic event in the history of Hungary, which will be attended not only by EU leaders, but also by leaders from outside the EU. Two things need to be discussed at the summit: the presidential elections in America and the curtailment of the decline in European competitiveness, he added.
