In a recent statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply criticized the peace plan proposed by Brazil and China to end the war in Ukraine. Zelensky described this plan as "destructive", expressing doubts about its effectiveness and potential consequences for Ukraine.
"The Chinese-Brazilian proposal is also destructive, it is just a political statement. And I was telling Lule (President of Brazil) and we were conveying to the Chinese side: "Let's sit down together, let's talk together." You are not our enemies, we are not your enemies. Why did you suddenly decide that you should side with Russia or be somewhere in the middle?" - said the president in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Metrópoles.
Zelensky is sure that the Sino-Brazilian peace plan was agreed in advance with the Kremlin.
"We are not stupid. What is this theater for?" he said.
Zelenskyi also called the Brazilian government "pro-Russian" and called on it to do more to support Ukraine's position on ending the war.
It will be recalled that the Sino-Brazilian peace plan envisages stopping the war along the front line. This directly contradicts Zelensky's "peace formula", which provides for the withdrawal of Russian troops to the borders of 1991.
