The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in an interview with one of the Ukrainian TV channels, expressed concern about insufficient mobilization after the recent strengthening of the law on mobilization. He noted that despite all the measures, Ukraine has not yet reached the desired level of preparedness necessary to ensure a stable defense capability against the background of the war with Russia.
"We really did not mobilize enough people after the adoption of the law... The norms of the law on mobilization need to be adjusted," the president said.
He denied rumors that Ukraine mobilized half a million people after the law was passed. "No one has mobilized half a million," Zelenskyi said.
In this regard, he stated that the replenishment of brigades is happening slowly. "There are exhausted brigades in the east, rotation is needed. The boys get tired and leave. We have to replace them with fresh armed units," Zelenskyi said.
He called the situation in the east of Ukraine "really difficult" and admitted that "there is a slow advance of the Russians for various reasons."
Among other reasons, he cited delays in the delivery of weapons, for some types of weapons the delay is a year from what was promised.
