Zelenskyi: European countries can stop social payments to Ukrainian refugees

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that some European countries intend to stop social payments to Ukrainian refugees, which may lead to the return of some of them to Ukraine. This situation caused concern, as many Ukrainians found refuge in Europe due to the war with Russia.

He says that the EU countries want to keep only those Ukrainians who are employed.

"As for Ukrainians who do not work abroad, they (the authorities of European countries - Ed.) are looking for a way to force them to return to Ukraine. This is a fact. One way or another, this part of Ukrainians will return, because social benefits and support abroad will disappear. This is a fact," the president said at a press conference in Transcarpathia.

According to him, there are 1.1 million Ukrainian refugees in Germany, of which at least 300,000 do not work and "don't even try."
