Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is interested in signing a long-term agreement with the United States on the production of drones with an estimated cost of $35 to $50 billion.
The head of state said this during a meeting with journalists, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine already has the appropriate production capacity to implement such a project, and the agreement itself could become a major multi-year agreement between the two countries.
The President noted that drone technologies are changing rapidly, so even if some solutions lose their relevance over time, they can be replaced by new developments. In particular, he mentioned the possibility of developing underwater drones.
Zelensky's statement came amid a discussion about the role of Ukrainian technology in the fight against drones.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the United States does not need Ukraine's help to intercept Iranian drones in the Middle East.
Zelenskyy responded by calling such statements "rhetoric.".
