The period of calm geomagnetic conditions is coming to an end: today the Earth will face powerful magnetic storms caused by solar flares.
According to British Geological Survey Geomagnetism, magnetic storms will reach STORM G1 and STORM G2 levels. The peak of activity is expected on January 25-26, and the intensity will reach the G2 indicator, which corresponds to the K-index of 6.
These phenomena can have a serious impact on the well-being of weather-dependent people, as well as cause minor interruptions in the operation of electrical networks and communications.
The G-index scale varies from 1 to 5, where:
- G1 (K-index 5) indicates a weak storm that may cause discomfort in sensitive people.
- G2 (K-index 6) is a moderate storm that can already cause physical exhaustion and affect technology.
How to reduce the impact of magnetic storms?
Weather-dependent people may experience headaches, fatigue, insomnia, or mood swings. To minimize the consequences:
- Normalize sleep. Sleep at least eight hours a day.
- Maintain water balance. Drink enough water to support your body.
- Light diet. Eliminate alcohol, heavy food, replacing it with light meals of vegetables and protein.
- Reduce physical and emotional stress.
Solar activity is unpredictable, so regularly tracking magnetic storm forecasts will help prepare for their impact.
Be attentive to your health, because even small changes in the Earth's magnetic field can affect the general condition of the body.
