We have insiders from the Cabinet and the Council regarding changes in electricity prices.
The tariff for the population will definitely be raised in the near future. Now there is a discussion about how much. So far, the main idea is to raise from UAH 2.64/kW to UAH 3.2/kW.
The market tariff is now around UAH 3.8/kW, but the population pays only UAH 2.64/kW, and business from UAH 5 to 7/kW. Western partners have declared that they will no longer finance the preferential tariff for our population and demand that the general tariff be reduced to at least the cost price (about UAH 3.8/kW), since business will no longer be able to bear higher tariffs, so it is the turn of the population to raise them.
It is still unclear whether the tariff will be made flexible again (who consumes more – pays more, who consumes less – pays less), and it is also unclear about seasonal tariffs for both electricity and gas (when consumption is less, the tariff is higher, for example, gas in summer UAH 9/cubic meter, and UAH 8/cubic meter in winter).
