Disappeared after the match and ended up in Russia: former Shakhtar player receives Russian citizenship

Former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Oleksandr Rosputko has become a Russian citizen and signed an agreement with Chaika, the Transfermarkt platform reports.

The 21-year-old joined the Russian team on August 15 after a nearly two-year break from playing. The contract runs until the summer of 2026.

As a reminder, in October 2023, Rosputko disappeared after a U19 Champions League match against Antwerp in Belgium. After that, he ended up in Russia, and Shakhtar terminated his contract.

The Ukrainian has not yet made his debut for Chaika, but is listed under the 8th playing number.
