Over the last week, 2974 newborns have been registered in Ukraine, which is 386 less than the previous week. Among them are 1525 boys and 1449 girls. This message was published by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Justice, compared to the previous week, the number of newborns has decreased. If from March 8 to March 15, 3360 children were officially registered in Ukraine, then from March 15 to March 22, this figure decreased to 2974 newborns. This is 386 less than in the previous week, which is a noticeable decline.
This statistics indicates a trend when the number of male and female newborns is almost equal, although more boys are traditionally born in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Justice also shared statistics on popular names for newborns by regions. Ukraine has regional differences in the choice of names for children. Yes, in the west of the country, the most popular names are Victoria for girls and artem for boys. While the names of Kateryna and Dmitry are more often chosen in eastern Ukraine.
The decrease in the number of newborns in the last week can be associated with various factors, including socio-economic conditions related to war, as well as demographic processes that have been ongoing in Ukraine for several years. Although the total birth rate in the country is decreasing, the Ministry of Justice continues to monitor the situation that allows you to draw conclusions about the presence or absence of long -term trends.
Despite the decrease in the number of newborns, Ukraine continues to pay attention to the support of young families through various programs and initiatives aimed at facilitating the birth and upbringing of children.
