Analysts point to the importance of Western military support for the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the front.
Lowering the mobilization age from 27 to 25 will help the Ukrainian army to restore and modernize existing units, as well as form new ones. However, the support of Western allies is needed to fully provide for all mobilized, says the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Experts note that lowering the mobilization age is only one of the measures that Ukraine is considering as part of creating a sustainable mechanism for the mobilization of military forces in wartime.
However, Ukraine will need to arm all mobilized servicemen. Delays in the provision of military aid and support to the West may slow down the process of recovery and formation of new military units in Ukraine.
According to the ISW, financial support from the West is a key factor in strengthening the combat capability of the Ukrainian army.
We will remind that on April 2, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the law on mobilization from the age of 25, as well as draft law No. 10062 on the electronic cabinet of conscripts.
