The island of Nestryga, located in the Kherson region and directly entering the Dnipro delta, is now liberated from the Russian invaders.
This territory was under the control of enemy forces for a long time, but now it is controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky announced this in his Telegram channel on April 28.
In the direction of Kherson, Ukrainian units managed to advance in the area of Veletenskyi and establish control over the island of Nestryga, he noted.
The commander-in-chief also added that the Russian occupiers continue to hope for the expulsion of Ukrainian troops from Krynyk, but their efforts are not yielding results.
From the information available on the network, it is known that Nestryga Island is part of the Nizhnyodniprovskyi National Nature Park. In the Kherson region there are thousands of small islands located at the mouth of the Dnieper and locally known as plavni.
