Warming is approaching Ukraine, which will be most noticeable on February 12. Forecasters of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center are warning drivers and pedestrians about icy roads, gusts of southerly wind, and a sharp increase in temperature, especially in the west and south of the country.
According to the forecast, the coldest day will be Tuesday, February 10. Almost no precipitation is expected, only in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia during the day light sleet and rain, and ice in places. Fog is forecast at night and in the morning in most central regions, Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Gusts of southerly wind up to 15–20 m/s are expected in the west.
The temperature at night will be 15–20°C below zero, in the north in places 22–24°C below zero, in the daytime 7–12°C below zero. In the west and south at night 12–17°C below zero, in the daytime 1–6°C below zero. In Transcarpathia at night 0–5°C below zero, in the daytime 1–6°C below zero, in Crimea – at night 5–10°C below zero, in the daytime about 0°C.
On Wednesday, February 11, light rain with wet snow is expected in places in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia, no precipitation is expected in the rest of the territory. Frosts will weaken slightly: in the east and northeast at night 15–20°C below zero, in the daytime 3–8°C below zero; in the west and south at night 4–9°C below zero, in the daytime from 3°C below zero to 2°C; in Transcarpathia at night about 0°C, in the daytime 1–6°C below zero; in Crimea at night 3–8°C below zero, in the daytime 0–5°C below zero.
The most noticeable warming is expected on Thursday, February 12. In the west and northern regions, light rain with wet snow is possible in places, the rest of the territory will remain without precipitation. Temperature in the east and northeast at night 8–13°C below zero, during the day about 0°, in the rest of the territory 0–8°C below zero at night, during the day from 1°C below zero to 4°C. In Transcarpathia and Crimea at night about 0°C, during the day 4–9°C.
Forecasters remind that during February 10-12, ice will form in places on the country's roads. The wind will be predominantly southerly at a speed of 7-12 m/s.
