June 2 in history: birthdays, traditions and signs of this day

The second day of summer in Ukraine and the world is marked by several important events - both church and cultural. Although there are no official national holidays today, this day has its symbolism on the folk calendar and in the Christian tradition.

What is the holiday today in Ukraine

On June 2, there is no state or unofficial holidays, but Ukrainians can devote a day to the memoirs of outstanding compatriots who were born that day. Among them: actor and director Yuri Tymoshenko, composer Leopold Yashchenko, athlete Vladimir Golubnychy, animator Eduard Kirich, film director Yaroslav Lupiy and poet Vladimir Barna.

The latter pray for the protection of children, peace in Ukraine and protection against evil.

In the old church style, this day is dedicated to the Holy Martyrs Alexander, asteria and Falley. It is believed that prayers of this day have a special power.

That today cannot be done

The folk tradition prohibits June 2:
