Customs officers exposed an attempt to import a truck under the guise of humanitarian aid: forgery and protocol on violation
At the Shegini -Medica checkpoint, the customs officers detained the MAN TGS on the 26.360 2011 release, which was tried to bring to Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces. But according to the documents that accompanied the transport, serious violations were found.
As stated in the customs declaration, the truck seemed to be transferred for the military unit at the request of the Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces. The head of the Stryi Charitable Foundation, which was engaged in importation, provided the customs officers with a letter of appeal allegedly from a serviceman to confirm the transfer.
At first everything seemed logical - the check showed that the lieutenant colonel with such a name really serves in the mentioned part. But further communication with the military showed falsification:
- the officer did not turn to the philanthropists;
- his signature - fake;
- The military unit does not need a truck.
Instead of help, an attempt to bring a car to Ukraine with tax evasion and further commercial use. It is probably another example of a scheme when "humanitarian" machines go on sale.
Customs officers made a protocol on violation of customs rules under Part 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The car with an estimated cost of almost UAH 2 million has been withdrawn. His further fate, as well as a punishment for the 53-year-old head of the Fund, will be determined by the court.
