The Security Service of Ukraine reported suspicions to the former Deputy Minister of Social Policy in connection with the unfounded purchase of computers worth 24 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the official concluded a contract with a commercial enterprise without proper approval and in violation of the requirements of the cooperation project with the World Bank , within the framework of which the procurement was to be carried out.
In particular:
- The agreement did not meet the goals and objectives of the project.
- The procurement was not coordinated with the Ministry of Digital Transformation .
These actions were classified as official negligence, which caused significant losses to the state budget.
The former official was charged with official negligence. If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison .
This case is another example of abuses in the field of public procurement, which leave the budget without funds and projects without real benefit.
