The Security Service of Ukraine informed the former deputy minister of social policy of suspicion in connection with the groundless purchase of computers worth 24 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the official entered into a contract with a commercial enterprise without proper approval and in violation of the requirements of the cooperation project with the World Bank , within the framework of which the procurement was to be carried out.
In particular:
- The agreement did not meet the goals and objectives of the project.
- The purchase was not approved by the Ministry of Digital Transformation .
These actions were classified as official negligence, which caused significant losses to the state budget.
The former official was charged with official negligence. If found guilty, he faces up to 5 years in prison .
This case is another example of abuses in the field of public procurement, which leave the budget without funds and projects without real benefits.
