On July 28, until recently, Ukraine was of particular importance. On that day, the Orthodox honored St. Equally Apostolic Prince Vladimir, a ruler who brought Christianity to Rus'. It was this date that symbolized the Day of Baptism of Kievan Rus. However, after the transition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to the Novoyan Calendar, the holiday was officially postponed - now it is celebrated on July 15.
Despite the changes, many believers are still mentioned today as a memorable one. The temples mention not only Prince Vladimir, but also the apostles of Timon, Prokhora and Nicanor, as well as the Reverend Moses Ugrin, the Wonderworker of Kiev-Pechersk.

The day was considered favorable for working in the garden: it was possible to harvest, to preserve vegetables, to prepare dishes of young potatoes.
At the same time, there were some prohibitions. In the past, this day was not advised to engage in trade, especially for the purpose of profit. The quarrel, revenge and even needlework were also believed that none of these cases would benefit.
