The capital reported the suspicion of the director of a private company, who, according to the investigation, appropriated tens of millions of hryvnias under the guise of delivery of drones for the needs of a public institution. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, in 2024 the suspect promised to organize the purchase and supply of unmanned aerial vehicles from abroad for one of the Ukrainian companies. But, in turn, she executed a state order. In total, about 28 million hryvnias were transferred to the entrepreneur.
However, no drone was seen by the customers. Instead of fulfilling the obligations, the entrepreneur, as established by law enforcement officers, transferred some of the funds to the US dollars and transferred to the account of the Slovak company, the rest of the network was brought through a network of fictitious enterprises.
The prosecutor's office reports that the actions were taken in a state of martial law, which is an aggravating circumstance. Criminal proceedings were opened on a fraud committed by a group of persons in particularly large amounts.
Law enforcement officers are currently establishing other persons who could be involved in the appropriation scheme of state funds intended for the defense sphere.
