One of the Ukrainian border points exposed another attempt to bypass the prohibition of departure of men of conscript age. This time, the main defendants were a couple from Kirovohrad region-a 29-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman who turned out to be his ... former mother-in-law.
During the verification of documents, the spouse assured that they were combined with real love, and the age difference did not interfere with a sincere feeling. However, subsequently, law enforcement officers established the true essence of the relationship: the woman was previously the mother of the husband's wife, and married only to give him the opportunity to go abroad.
Marriage to a disabled woman allows men to cross the border. However, in this case, the attempt was unsuccessful - the inspectors of the SPSU suspected the unlawful and brought the steam on clean water.
Criminal proceedings have been opened on this fact. The persons are charged with two articles at once:
- illegal crossing of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Article 332 of the Criminal Code);
- evasion of conscription during mobilization (Article 336 of the Criminal Code).
The case was transferred to the relevant investigative bodies. If guilty is proven, both "newlyweds" may threaten a real punishment - up to imprisonment.
Context
After the start of the full -scale war of Russia against Ukraine, attempts to evade mobilization became systemic. In addition to fictitious marriages, Ukrainian men resort to forgery of documents, "linden" certificates of disability, student certificates or make custody of children. All of these schemes are actively monitored by the border guards, and the responsibility for trying to illegally cross the border is criminal.
