On May 29, Orthodox mark the Ascension of the Lord

Today is of particular importance to the believers, because Orthodox Christians celebrate the Ascension of the Lord - one of the most important holidays of the church calendar. It was on this day that, according to the Gospel, Jesus Christ ascended to heaven after forty days of stay on earth after the Resurrection.

Also on May 29, they honor the Holy Theodor of the consecrated - an ascetic and a miracle worker, known for his adamant faith.
