Theft of land from the Pyryatynsky Park: three former officials were informed of suspicion
Three former officials were reported on suspicion of illegally seizing over 100 hectares of land from the Pyryatynsky National Nature Park. According to the investigation, between 2017 and 2020, the officials organized a scheme under which the lands of the nature conservation fund were transferred to private lease.
As law enforcement officers established, officials illegally withdrew 95 land plots with a total area of 100 hectares from the permanent use of the National Park. Later, these lands were leased to a farm headed by the former village head, one of the defendants in the case.
Such actions caused losses to the state in the amount of about 6.8 million hryvnias. The investigation is currently ongoing, and the involvement of other individuals in the illegal alienation of protected lands is being verified.
The lands of the "Pyriatynsky" park are of important ecological importance, as they are included in the list of territories of the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine, where a strict nature protection regime operates. The withdrawal of such lands without special permission is a gross violation of the law.
Prosecutors emphasize that all those involved in the crime will be held accountable, and the illegally alienated plots must be returned to the state.
