In the Transcarpathian region, the court issued a sentence to a 70-year-old man who beat his wife with a wooden stick and then kept her on a metal chain for more than nine days. This is stated in the decision of the Irshava District Court (Case No. 301/1445/25).
The court found that the inhabitant of Transcarpathia beat his 68-year-old wife, causing her numerous blows on the back, shoulders and buttocks. The woman received bruises and bruises. A week after beating, the man tied it with a metal chain about seven meters long to the furniture in the house. The woman could not move freely for more than nine days until the police intervened in the situation.
In court, the husband explained his actions by quarreling with his wife because of her alleged alcohol abuse. According to him, he wrapped the woman to the furniture, so that he could not leave the house and buy alcohol again.
At the meeting, the man pleaded guilty and stated that he repented. His wife confirmed that there was a conflict, but said that she had forgiven her husband, and while holding on a chain he no longer beat her.
The court found the man guilty of imprisonment and injury. He was assigned a punishment in the form of two years in prison, but was replaced by one year and six months conditionally.
