According to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted from March 12 to 22, 2025, 77% of Ukrainians positively perceive the proposal for a temporary 30-day ceasefire.
Among these 77% of respondents:
-
47% believe that this is a way to show that Russia does not seek peace or is violating agreements.
-
12% see this as an opportunity to unblock military aid.
-
18% perceive this as a step towards ending the war on terms acceptable to Ukraine.
At the same time, 17% of respondents have a negative attitude towards this proposal:
-
8% consider this a wrong step that will weaken Ukraine.
-
7% view this as a desperate step by the Ukrainian authorities due to the difficult situation at the front.
-
2% perceive this as a step towards Ukraine's surrender.
In addition, 79% of Ukrainians categorically do not accept Russia's demands to stop mobilization, stop the supply of Western weapons, and provide intelligence to Ukraine.
Regarding a ceasefire without any security guarantees, 62% of respondents categorically do not support this option. However, if certain security guarantees are provided, more than half of Ukrainians are ready to support a ceasefire :
-
60% support the option of deploying Western peacekeepers.
-
58% — with NATO membership.
-
56% — with increased support from the Ukrainian Defense Forces (more air defense, aircraft, etc.).
The survey was conducted through telephone interviews among 1,326 respondents in all government-controlled regions of Ukraine.
