According to the updated law on mobilization, border guards at checkpoints will check the presence of military registration documents for certain categories of citizens. This information was provided by the spokesperson for the State Border Service, Colonel Andriy Demchenko.
In particular, according to the norms of Ukrainian legislation, male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 years during martial law or mobilization are required to carry a military registration document along with an identity document and present them upon request by border guards.
At checkpoints, military registration documents will be checked for the following categories of men:
- Reserved for the mobilization period and wartime.
- Declared unfit for military service by the conclusion of a military medical commission.
- They have three or more children under the age of 18.
- They raise a child independently.
- Have a child(ren) under the age of 18 and a spouse who is serving in the military.
- Other categories of persons defined in Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization”.
These changes will not apply to certain categories of citizens specified in separate paragraphs of the Rules for Crossing the State Border. These include persons with disabilities, those accompanying persons with disabilities and children with disabilities, as well as transport workers, etc.
Demchenko recommends clarifying your data in advance in the CCC and SP and entering information about receiving a deferral in your military registration document before leaving Ukraine.
