A modern Olympic and Paralympic Training and Rehabilitation Center is planned to be built on the picturesque shore of Lake Pulemetske in Shatsk district. This ambitious project, developed by Italian architects, is intended to become a place of training for athletes with disabilities and recovery for ATO/JFO participants who need physical and psychological rehabilitation.
The other day, the Shatsk Village Council held its fourth online meeting with Milanese architect Franco Tagliabue, his team, and LLC "Innovations and Reconstructions for Society", which is developing the project "Center for Olympic, Paralympic Training and Rehabilitation for People with Disabilities and ATO/JFO Participants.".
The training center is planned to be built in the village of Zalissia, Shatsk community. The international jury of the Hackathon “100 Ideas for Cities” from IRS has already recognized the project as innovative and socially important.
As reported in the Shatsk Village Council, Bohdan Tymoshuk, Secretary of the Shatsk Village Council, expressed gratitude to the Italian colleagues and IRS for their support and willingness to develop pre-project documentation, which includes a list of materials and services for the construction of the center. The implementation of the project will have a positive impact on the development of the infrastructure of the Shatsk community and Volyn as a whole, as the center will create modern conditions for the rehabilitation and training of our compatriots.
The project involves the construction of a structure made of environmentally friendly materials, areas for various sports activities, paths for walking and cycling, as well as a patio where visitors can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
“Thanks to the spacious open areas and ecological materials, the building has natural harmony, and specially created paths over the dunes allow for easy movement between activity zones,” said Tymoshchuk.
This project was made possible thanks to the initiative of the Hackathon “100 Ideas for Cities”, organized by IRS LLC (“Innovation and Reconstruction for Society” and the Club of Mayors).
The center, located on the shore of Lake Pulemetske in the Shatsk National Park, harmoniously combines architecture with the natural environment. The single-story building with transparent structures and sinusoidal lines ensures accessibility for everyone, including people with disabilities. The open areas and sports fields offer a picturesque view of the lake, which contributes to the harmonious combination of training with nature. The innovative solution in the form of a pier and a circular terrace protruding towards the lake creates a unique connection between sports facilities and nature. This promotes well-being and enriches the climate perception, combining different elements of the environment
The goal of the Hackathon is to create innovative solutions for the development of Ukrainian cities, public spaces and infrastructure. The IRS project, led by Iryna Yarmolenko, actively involves international experts in supporting promising ideas aimed at the restoration and modernization of Ukrainian communities. The Hackathon allows municipalities and architects to join forces in the implementation of important projects.
We invite residents, businesses, and donors to join the implementation of this socially significant project! Its presentation will take place at the All-Ukrainian Summit of Mayors on November 8 in Kyiv.
