A cadet of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny was detained in the Lviv region, who tried to bribe a major to avoid punishment for being in a state of drug intoxication.
According to the decision of the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv, published in October 2025, the serviceman, who holds the rank of junior lieutenant, was undergoing retraining and advanced training. At the end of September, he was in a military camp, where signs of intoxication were noticed. After the check, it was confirmed that the cadet was under the influence of narcotic substances.
To avoid administrative liability, the soldier offered the head of the department for combating the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors a bribe of 20 thousand hryvnias. On October 10, he handed over the first part of the money — five thousand hryvnias — to the major, after which he was detained by law enforcement officers.
He was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - offering, promising or providing an unlawful benefit to an official. Judge Vitaliy Radchenko chose a preventive measure in the form of a personal bond. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
