The High Council of Justice has opened a disciplinary case against Alla Malomuzh, a judge of the Kyiv District Court of Odessa. The reason was the data of a journalistic investigation, which revealed that the judge had been renting a luxury apartment in Dubai for over a year, but had not declared it, violating the requirements of financial transparency.
According to media reports, the two-room apartments are 117 square meters in the Orion Building complex, located in the prestigious Al Barsha district. The building has all the amenities: a swimming pool, tennis court, barbecue area and security. The monthly rent for such apartments reaches 1.5 thousand dollars - almost the entire annual salary of the judge.
According to the Kyiv District Court, from February 2022 to May 2023 alone, Malomuzh was on leave for 416 days, not performing her duties, but continued to receive a salary. In her 2023 tax return, she reported an income of 725,000 hryvnias.
Journalists also drew attention to the disappearance of a BMW X5 from the documents without the corresponding proceeds from the sale, as well as hereditary and family property in Odessa - two apartments and garages. In particular, one of the apartments was registered by the judge for her daughter.
Additional questions arise from the origin of the funds for living abroad. Alla Malomuzh has two children, the youngest daughter was born in Argentina two years ago. The judge's husband, Vasyl Larchenko, worked in the criminal police until 2019.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has already begun an investigation into the judge's lifestyle. Meanwhile, the High Council of Justice decided not to delay and opened disciplinary proceedings.
