A judge from Transcarpathia demanded a bribe to cancel the seizure of timber

In the Transcarpathian region, anti-corruption authorities detained a judge of the Volovets District Court of the Mukachevo District while accepting a bribe. This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the judge offered to cancel the seizure of 20 cubic meters of wood in exchange for a monetary reward. He also gave advice on how to properly and within what time frame to submit a motion to avoid it being considered by another investigating judge.

While transferring $1,300, the official was detained by NABU detectives together with SAPO prosecutors and employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Transcarpathian region.

The issue of electing a preventive measure judge is currently being resolved.
