Two Ukrainian citizens, Yermak Petrovsky and Igor Komarov, were kidnapped on the Indonesian island of Bali. According to media reports, the young men are the sons of people known in criminal circles in the Dnipro region. One of them managed to escape, while the other remains with the kidnappers, who are demanding $10 million for his release.
According to preliminary data, 28-year-old Igor Komarov is being held hostage. Media reports indicate that he has been subjected to cruel treatment, including torture. His location was allegedly determined through geolocation on social media — Komarov's girlfriend, blogger Eva Mishalova, posted a joint photo, which made it possible to determine his whereabouts.
According to one version, the incident began with a conflict between Ukrainians and representatives of the local criminal environment of Caucasian origin. According to another, the cause could have been business ties, in particular, alleged involvement in the activities of Dnipro call centers.
According to widespread information, the day after the conflict, when Petrovsky and Komarov were traveling on motorbikes, a car carrying people associated with the criminal authority hit Igor Komarov. After that, he was kidnapped. Yermak Petrovsky managed to escape.
Today, a video with statements by Igor Komarov appeared online.
In the recording, the man makes loud statements about the activities of call centers in Dnipro and the possible "covering" of this business by influential people.
In the video, Komarov names specific names and claims that protection and security for the call centers was allegedly provided by Oleksandr Petrovsky, known by the nickname "Narik." According to him, about $15,000 was paid monthly from one office, and up to $30,000 from others.
The appeal also mentions employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the current head of the Odessa Oblast OVA, Serhiy Lysak. Komarov claims that a network of call centers, which he calls the "Nine" OMU, could be operating in Dnipro under the patronage of Petrovsky and Lysak.
According to the NGO "NON-STOP", last night the parents of the kidnapped boy were sent a video from which it becomes clear that Igor is already dead.
