Ukraine's agricultural sector continues to demonstrate resilience even in times of war. According to Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval, export revenue from the agricultural sector will reach $24.5 billion this year, which will be the second highest figure in the history of Ukraine.
Despite the challenges, farmers were able to sow 19.8 million hectares of land and successfully harvest the crops.
"There is no mass closure of farms. Farmers have adapted to new realities and ensured not only exports, but also the country's food security," the minister noted.
November was a record month for Ukrainian agricultural exports. The achieved result highlights the sector's ability to restructure and continue operating even in difficult circumstances.
In 2024, expected revenue is only slightly inferior to the record figure of 2021, which remains the most successful year in the history of Ukrainian agricultural exports.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector for the Ukrainian economy. This sector continues to be a key source of foreign exchange earnings and contributes to the stability of the economy.
“Our farmers have restructured, and this allows us to remain competitive even in such difficult conditions,” emphasized Vitaliy Koval.
Efforts to support and develop the agricultural sector are essential for further growth. According to experts, there is potential to increase export opportunities, including through innovation, expanding markets, and improving logistics.
