The Ukrainian agricultural sector continues to demonstrate resilience even in war conditions. According to the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval, export revenue from the agricultural sector will reach $24.5 billion this year, which will be the second highest figure in the history of Ukraine.
Despite the challenges, farmers were able to sow 19.8 million hectares of land and successfully harvest what was grown.
"There is no mass closure of farms. Agrarians adapted to new realities and ensured not only exports, but also food security of the country," the minister noted.
November became a record month for Ukrainian agricultural exports. The achieved result underlines the sector's ability to rebuild and continue to operate even under difficult circumstances.
In 2024, the expected revenue is only slightly inferior to the record figure of 2021, which remains the most successful year in the history of Ukrainian agricultural exports.
The minister also emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector for the economy of Ukraine. This sector continues to be a key source of foreign exchange earnings and contributes to the stability of the economy.
"Our farmers have restructured, and this allows us to remain competitive even in such difficult conditions," Vitaliy Koval emphasized.
Efforts to support and develop the agricultural sector are important for further growth. According to experts, there is potential for increasing export opportunities, in particular thanks to innovations, expansion of sales markets and improvement of logistics.
