On July 24, the Russian occupiers launched another strike on Kharkiv, damaging the house of Kharkiv businessman Yuri Sapronov. The missile hit a two-story non-residential building on the territory of Yuri Sapronov's private homestead, causing significant damage.
Yuriy Sapronov is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and volunteer. He was engaged in charity work and was Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration from 2010 to 2014. He is also the president of the leading Ukrainian golf club “Superior Golf Club” and vice-president of the public organization “All-Ukrainian Golf Federation”. For his active activities, he received the Order of Merit of the 2nd degree in August 2022 for his significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian statehood and the defense of national interests.
According to our sources, Sapronov has serious conflicts with Ukrainian high-ranking officials, in particular with Andriy Yermak and President Zelensky. His critical statements and views could be one of the reasons why his house was hit by a missile. There is speculation that the attack could not have been accidental, but aimed at intimidating or neutralizing one of his potential opponents.
Sources emphasize that Yermak considers Sapronov one of his enemies. And given that Yuriy Sapronov may become the next mayor of Kharkiv, the situation looks even more dire.
But we can only guess whether the arrival of the KAB was a coincidence or whether our government is actually cracking down on its enemies in this way.
