On the Polish-Ukrainian border, law enforcement officers discovered and seized two vehicles that were on the international wanted list. These are an excavator stolen in Poland and a Lexus car that was being sought by Spanish law enforcement agencies.
As reported by Polish border guards, on January 9, a semi-trailer truck driven by a 35-year-old Ukrainian citizen was stopped at the Korchowa-Krakowice checkpoint while leaving Poland. The vehicle was transporting several units of construction equipment.
During the verification of the legality of the origin of one of the excavators, it turned out that the machine is wanted by the Polish authorities. According to law enforcement officers, the excavator worth about 160 thousand zlotys was stolen in Poland more than nine years ago. The equipment was seized, and the driver was questioned as part of the investigative actions. The investigation is ongoing.
In addition, another case of detection of stolen vehicles occurred on January 8 in Dębica. Border Guard officers in Medyca, together with local police, discovered signs of forged identification numbers during an inspection of a Lexus RX 450h.
After establishing the actual registration number, it turned out that the car, with an estimated value of about PLN 100,000, was lost in Spain and is being sought by Spanish law enforcement agencies. The car was seized, and the circumstances of its movement and origin are being investigated.
Polish law enforcement officers note that control over stolen vehicles at the border remains one of the priority areas of work, particularly within the framework of international cooperation.
