In the Rivne region, a 22-year-old man was sentenced to 5 years in prison for molesting his three-year-old sister. The Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this.
The crime occurred in June 2023. According to the investigation, the man, while at home with his own sister, committed lewd acts against the child, violating her sexual integrity. However, the sexual violence did not involve penetration into the girl's body.
During the trial, the defendant pleaded not guilty, but prosecutors provided irrefutable evidence of his crime. The defendant is currently in pre-trial detention. The verdict has not yet entered into force, and the parties have the right to appeal it in the court of appeal.
