The majority of Ukrainians support the idea of creating a government of national unity that unites patriotic forces, both in and outside parliament. Such results were obtained during a sociological survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), which was conducted from December 1 to 9, 2024.
According to the data, 47% of respondents expressed support for the idea of a national unity government, while 37% were neutral and only 10% were against.
As for the candidates for the position of head of such a government, Petro Poroshenko received the most support, named by 20% of respondents. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is in second place with 13% support. He is followed by Yulia Tymoshenko (7%), Yuriy Boyko (5%), and Oleksandra Ustinova (4%).
Anton Hrushetsky, Executive Director of KIIS, emphasized that in Ukraine there remains a strong demand for unity among political forces, regardless of their ideological orientation.
The survey was conducted among adult citizens of Ukraine living in government-controlled territories. The sample did not include residents of temporarily occupied territories (except for internally displaced persons) and individuals who left the country after February 24, 2022.
