Thanks to the introduction of an additional power unit at nuclear power plants, regions will be able to more easily comply with energy limits. However, the improvement will be temporary due to the expected heat load in July. This was stated by the head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
"We expect that in the near future, on the night of June 7-8, an additional unit at the nuclear power plant will be put into operation. This will improve our energy system for two weeks. Outage schedules will not disappear, but they will become softer throughout Ukraine," Kudrytskyi noted.
With the introduction of an additional power unit, it will be easier for regions to comply with the limits. However, the improvement will be temporary, as the heat in July will increase the load on the power system.
In addition, starting June 8, Ukrenergo plans to change the method of distributing limits. Instead of assigning a limit in megawatts to each region, regions will receive the number of queues that each region will have to disconnect. According to Kudrytsky, this should lead to a more even distribution of the “burden of disconnections” between regions.
