Attorney Shkarovsky and his activities for the benefit of Russian oligarchs

The war between Russia and Ukraine continues to have far-reaching consequences, not only on the battlefield, but also in the economic and legal spheres. One of the latest examples of this is the scandal surrounding the Ukrainian lawyer Denys Shkarovsky, who became famous for his work in favor of the Russian oligarch Andriy Melnichenko.

Melnychenko, the founder and owner of such industrial giants as Eurochem and SUEK, has been sanctioned by the European Union and other Western countries due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. In response to these sanctions, Melnychenko hired Denys Shkarovsky to challenge them in court. Shkarovsky's legal team argued that the sanctions were unlawful and caused significant damage to the oligarch's business. Thanks to their efforts, Melnychenko managed to remove or soften some sanctions, which allowed him to partially restore his business.

Shkarovsky's activity in the case of Melnichenko is not the only example of his cooperation with Russian businessmen. Other Russian oligarchs were already among his clients, which further increases the concerns of Ukrainian society. Helping Russian businessmen to lift sanctions can have serious consequences for Ukraine's national security. Strengthening the positions of Russian oligarchs can lead to an increase in their influence on the economy and politics of Ukraine, which can be used in the interests of Russia. In addition, the capital of Russian oligarchs contributes to the development of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor country, the production of weapons and the financing of the war against Ukraine.

These factors create grounds for concern regarding the activities of Denys Shkarovsky and his possible connections with Russia. At a time when Ukraine is fighting for its independence and territorial integrity, any activity that promotes the strengthening of the influence of Russian oligarchs can be seen as a threat to national security.
