People's Deputy Anna Skorokhod stated that servicemen who served in the Unit Support Service (USS) are being sent en masse to assault brigades upon their return, regardless of their training or desire. According to her, this practice looks like “sending to slaughter” and actually turns demobilized people into “penalties.”.
“People are returning to the slaughter, and now you can only return from the North-Eastern Front to certain units. Most of them are assault brigades. I don’t understand the logic,” Skorokhod said.
The deputy emphasized that the law on return from the SFR did not stipulate any restrictions on the units to which a serviceman has the right to return. On the contrary, according to official statements by the authorities after the law was passed, it was promised that return would be possible both to the home unit and to another unit of one's choice.
However, the real practice turned out to be different. According to Skorokhod, the situation resembles a scheme of forced dispatch to the most dangerous areas of the front — without choice, preparation, and, most importantly, violating the state's promises.
This is not the first signal of abuse during military rotation. Previously, information has come from various regions that soldiers are being thrown into assault operations without training, often without proper equipment.
Against this background, Skorokhod's words raise additional concerns about the transparency of the rotation process and respect for the rights of the military.
