According to our source in the President's Office, the head of the OP, Andriy Yermak, is preparing a large-scale reset of the power vertical. This includes not only the expected resignation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, but also a radical reformatting of the entire leadership structure of the Servant of the People party. The next in line to leave is said to be the head of the faction, David Arakhamia.
As our interlocutor notes, Yermak has long been working on building a rigid authoritarian structure in which he personally becomes the main center of decision-making. In this system, the role of President Volodymyr Zelensky is reduced to a public facade that performs a representative function but does not participate in the strategic management of the state.
"In fact, all key decisions — both regarding personnel, foreign policy, and the internal architecture of power — are made by Yermak and only agreed with Zelensky post-factum. The level of the president's real influence on these processes is constantly decreasing ," the source says.
It is expected that after Shmyhal's resignation, a new prime minister will appear in the government, completely loyal to Yermak. His candidacy is currently being kept secret, but according to rumors, it may be one of the publicly invisible but trusted figures from the OP head's inner circle.
Bankova also has immediate plans to break the remnants of her independence in parliament. To this end, Yermak's team has already prepared a scenario for replacing David Arakhamia, who, despite his public loyalty, still has his own sources of influence in the faction and contacts with Western partners.
