The board of Oschadbank has temporarily suspended Deputy Chairman of the Board for Finance Oleg Strynzh from participating in the work of the tender committee. This decision was made after the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office informed the official of suspicion of official negligence.
As reported by the bank, the suspension will be in effect for the duration of the investigation.
According to Oschadbank, Strynzha himself addressed the board with a statement in which he asked to temporarily remove him from performing relevant duties in the tender committee until the inspection is completed.
The case in which the official was suspected is related to the purchase of equipment to ensure the uninterrupted operation of bank branches during power outages.
This concerns the purchase of batteries together with inverters for the amount of 140.9 million hryvnias.
Law enforcement officers believe that violations may have been committed during this procurement, which gave rise to suspicion of official negligence.
An investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the procurement.
