The SBU and the National Police exposed a diversion in Kharkiv - a local resident Kateryna Pikhtin, commissioned by Russian special services, handed over a replaced scooter to the military in the guise of volunteer assistance. As a result of the explosion, one Ukrainian warrior was killed, another was injured.
According to the investigation, Pikhtina made an explosive device at home. To do this, she purchased household chemicals, wires, battery and two mobile phones that were to provide remote blast. She hid the whole loaded cargo in the luggage of a Motorolair.
Then the terrorist agreed to transfer the scooter as "volunteer assistance" to the Armed Forces. The transfer was to take place in a crowded place - near a cafe in one of Kharkiv. There, according to the curators from Russia, and had a explosion.
The fact of the terrorist attack is confirmed - one Ukrainian military was killed, the other was injured. The explosion struck immediately after the scooter was transferred.
Catherine Pikhtin was detained "in hot pursuit". Investigative actions were carried out by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the National Police. The woman has now been suspected of participating in terrorist activity. She is threatened with life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
According to sources in law enforcement agencies, Pikhtin could have been published by Russian special services during a full -scale invasion. Among other things, she maintained contacts with hostile agents through messengers, acted independently, without having open ties with volunteer organizations.
The SBU emphasizes that the enemy continues to use terror tactics even under the guise of help, and the purpose of sabotage is increasingly becoming Ukrainian military in a peaceful territory.
