In the east and south of Ukraine, the situation remains tense, as evidenced by the events of the last day, which are striking in their intensity. According to the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on January 14, 86 combat clashes took place at the front.
In the fight against the threat, Ukrainian troops are faced with various tasks. The enemy is active using aircraft and FPV quadcopters and conducts assault operations using armored vehicles.
In total, the enemy launched 3 rockets and 60 airstrikes, as well as carried out 45 attacks from missile and artillery systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and peaceful settlements. Unfortunately, these attacks resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, as well as serious destruction and damage to private residential buildings and other public infrastructure.
As for individual directions, the situation in Volyn and Poliske remains without significant changes, no information has been received about the formation of offensive groups. In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains its military presence at the border, conducts sabotage and intelligence operations and attacks on populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and also increases the number of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupyan direction, the defense forces successfully repelled three attacks in the Synkivka and Petropavlivka districts of the Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried in vain to break through the defense line of the Ukrainian troops.
Due to active artillery and mortar shelling, more than ten settlements came under the influence of violence.
In the Lyman direction, 14 attacks were reported in the districts of Makiyivka, Belogorivka, Luhansk region, and Verkhnokamyansky, Donetsk region. Trying to improve its tactical position, the enemy took unsuccessful measures.
The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka, Serebryansk Forestry of Luhansk Oblast, and Vesely of Donetsk Oblast. About 15 settlements came under the fire of artillery and mortars.
In the Bakhmut direction, 5 enemy attacks were repulsed near Klishchiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the area of Bohdanivka. Artillery and mortar shelling led to shelling of more than 10 settlements.
In the Avdiivka direction, 9 enemy attacks were recorded in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovoy, Avdiivka, as well as another 13 attacks near Pervomaiskyi and Nevelskyi, Donetsk region. The occupiers, supported by aviation, could not improve their position. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Mariinsky direction, defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka districts of Donetsk region. The Russians tried 15 times to break through the defense with the support of aviation, Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maksimilianivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire.
The enemy did not take offensive actions in the Shakhtarsky direction, limiting itself to an air strike in the Volodymyrivka area of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were shelled by artillery and mortars.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 9 attacks were successfully repulsed near Krasnoye, west of Verbovoy and Robotyny, Zaporizhzhia region. Artillery and mortar shelling hit approximately 20 settlements.
In the Kherson direction, enemy artillery shelling hit the center of Kherson and the settlement of Stanislav in the Kherson region. Reactive volley fire systems struck the districts of Tyaginka, Ivanivka, Ingulets, Mykilskyi, Sadovoy, Chornobayivka, and Stanislav in the Kherson region.
On the left bank of the Dnieper, the enemy does not give up its attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their bridgeheads. During the day, the enemy made 6 assault attempts, which ended unsuccessfully. The Armed Forces continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the enemy, as stated in the General Staff.
During the last day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out retaliatory strikes aimed at 4 areas where the personnel, military equipment and weapons of the enemy were concentrated. Also, anti-aircraft defense (APD) successfully destroyed one Kh-59 guided air missile.
Divided by missile forces, the military counterattack was directed at 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as at 1 anti-aircraft defense device and 2 enemy ammunition depots.
