The Commission of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) for considering complaints in the field of public procurement decided to cancel the victory in the tender for "Weatherford Ukraine" LLC, a subsidiary of Weatherford International, which was recognized by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) as a sponsor of the war. The decision was made after a complaint by the American company USA DENIMEX INC., which pointed to the connections of Weatherford Ukraine with Russia.
According to the complainant, Weatherford International's parent company continues to operate in Russia and is a key partner of Rosneft, a state corporation headed by a close associate of the Russian president, Igor Sechin. In February 2024, NAZK added the company to the list of war sponsors.
AMCU established that "Wetherford Ukraine" provided unreliable information about the absence of ties with the Russian Federation. During the review of the complaint, the commission found that the Ukrainian and Russian subsidiaries are under the joint control of the Swiss Weatherford Worldwide Holdings HmbH, which indicates indirect connections with Russia.
In view of the given facts, the AMCU commission decided to cancel the victory of "Wetherford Ukraine" in the tender for the supply of equipment in the amount of 64 million hryvnias for JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya".
