Shooting occurred in a Kyiv hotel: armed man detained

On the morning of May 14, a shooting occurred in a Kyiv hotel. According to police, no one was injured in the incident, and the shooter was quickly detained.

The report of an armed man was received at around 9 a.m. Special forces and an investigative and operational group immediately arrived at the scene. The man resisted, but was detained without the use of firearms.

Eyewitnesses and social media posts claim that the detainee was armed with an AR-15 assault rifle and a pistol. The motives for his actions are currently being investigated. According to preliminary information, the suspect was a guest at the hotel, but suddenly began to behave aggressively, which prompted the administration to call the police.

Forensic experts are working at the scene, weapons and other evidence have been seized. The detainee has been identified, and the issue of opening criminal proceedings is being resolved.

The police promise to provide additional information after the completion of primary investigative actions.
