In the Odessa region, a court found Lyubov Kozhukharenko, an ophthalmologist at the Zakharivska Multidisciplinary Hospital, guilty of entering inaccurate data into her annual declaration. During 2023, she purchased 10 apartments, 4 non-residential premises, and a land plot with a total value of over 10 million hryvnias, but did not indicate them in the declaration.
In addition to her work as an ophthalmologist, Kozhukharenko is also an ultrasound specialist and a member of the military medical commission. However, in her 2023 declaration, she indicated only one apartment with an area of 63 sq. m., which she also purchased that same year, an old 1997 VAZ car, an annual income of 421 thousand hryvnias from medical practice and another 23 thousand from the company “Avon Cosmetics Ukraine”. No savings or other assets were declared.
As the investigation established, Kozhukharenko intentionally concealed information about four non-residential premises with an area of from 29 to 36 sq. m, ten apartments with an area of from 31 to 64 sq. m and a land plot with an area of 1226 sq. m, the right to which she acquired in 2022.
At the trial, the doctor admitted her guilt, sincerely repented, and stated that she did not want to declare her assets, although she understood that she had to. The court found her guilty of submitting knowingly false information in the declaration and imposed a fine of 68,000 hryvnias and a one-year ban on holding public office.
