Andriy Danylko, better known in the stage image of Verka Serdyuchka, told why he did not become a national selection judge for Eurovision-2025, and commented on this year's performance of Ziferblat. The artist gave an interview to the Russian BBC service in London.
Danylko noted that he was not ready to evaluate young participants because he does not want to offend anyone. According to him, all contestants are different, and public humiliation for the sake of Hipp on the Internet is alien.
"I refused to sit in the jury of national selections for Eurovision. I do not know how to judge them. They are all young, choose them. I look at them. To say something offensive to then discuss it on the Internet, I do not want. They are different. So I say everything,"
He also shared his thoughts on this year's representative of Ukraine - Ziferblat, who performed at the competition with the song "Place and Call Home". Danylko confessed that he was feeling nostalgia in times when there was more respect between the artists, not the mass hait on social networks.
"Here are the guys now - Ziferblat. We even sang a fragment during our performance.
We will remind, Andriy Danylko represented Ukraine at Eurovision in 2007 in the image of Verka Serdyuchka with the song "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" and took second place. His speech is still considered one of the most striking in the history of Ukraine's participation in the competition.
