The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the term of office of former Deputy Minister for Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development, Vasyl Lozynsky, until April 21. Lozynsky is suspected of receiving illegal benefits in the amount of $400,000, according to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The decision to extend Lozynsky's term of office was made on February 21 by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court. According to this decision, the suspect's term of office was extended until April 21, 2024 inclusive. The SAPO prosecutor requested an extension of this term, which was granted.
Lozynsky is required to fulfill a number of conditions, including attending law enforcement requests, reporting any changes in his place of residence and work, refraining from communicating with certain individuals, and handing over his foreign passports.
Recall that Lozynsky, along with four other individuals, is accused of illegally receiving $400,000. These funds relate to funds allocated in 2022 for heat supply, which were directed to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure. The investigation established that Lozynsky agreed to purchase equipment at inflated prices from an entrepreneur who presented him with an unreasonably high cost of goods compared to the market value.
